Black Mask DIY

Good morning sweetness! Today on Instagram I shared a story while wearing a homemade Black Mask asking if you wanted the recipe, you answered immediately, so here’s the post where I tell you how I did it! Here is the video I uploaded on my Youtube channel, have a look!

First thing to know: it WORKS! The first time I did was a bit skeptical, but I had to recapture. The ingredients are few and simple:

• 3 tablespoons of milk (vegetal is ok as well)
• 4 tablet of vegetable charcoal (available in: supermarkets, pharmacies, herbalist shops)
• 3 sheets of gelatin

The procedure is simple, you have to (1) put the gelatin in cold water, so that it softens, then (2) fine powder the vegetable charcoal (I used a small mortar), otherwise you can find carbon capsules that are already in powder form. (3) Then put the milk in a small pan and put it on a stove to warm up. (4) As soon as it boils, take it out of the fire, put it in a bowl with the gelatin and mix until gelatine is dissolved. Finally (5) add the vegetal charcoal powder, mix and voilà, your Black Mask is ready!

Are you ready? Not yet! While you wait for the mask to cool off a bit, you have to open your pores. To do this you can wet a towel with hot water and put it on your face for a few minutes. Another method is to boil water and then, covering your head with a towel, place it over the pot so that hot steam will dilate your pores. I recommend the first mode, not because it works better, but if possible it is better to avoid running every risk, it is not worth burning yourself for a few black spots!

Now that your pores are open, dry your face and apply the mask with a brush (I only apply it to zone T, because it hurts when you remove it, and your face is a very sensitive area!), one layer might be enough, although I prefer to apply it with several layers because it makes it easier to remove the mask (but you’ll need to wait more time, even 30 min). I recommend you to have a nice magazine or smartphone at your fingertips to fool your wait, in fact you have to wait until it’s completely dry. And I recommend you never forget to use a good moisturizer after you have removed the mask and rinsed your face with warm water!

This is the result of my mask! 😱

This looks like a nice mask to try, much better than how people were using kid’s glue and charcoal for a while. Thank you for sharing!
